Prayer for Divine Intervention in Our Environment

Bible Text: "The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it." - Genesis 2:15.

Eternal God of Times and Seasons,  

Creator and Sustainer of all creation,  

I come before You with a repentant heart,  

acknowledging our failure as stewards of Your magnificent earth.  

As You placed Adam in Eden to tend and keep it,  

yet we have exploited and polluted.  

Where we were called to nurture,  

we have neglected;  

where we were commanded to protect,  

we have destroyed.  

Merciful Father,  

I plead for Your compassion to fall upon our wounded planet:  

Cleanse our polluted skies,  

Restore our poisoned waters,  

Revive our depleted soils,  

And heal our scarred landscapes.  

God of Restoration,  

Send Your renewing power:  

Where deserts have spread, bring vegetation;  

Where species have vanished, restore balance;  

Where climates have changed, bring harmony.  

Reverse what human greed has corrupted  

Through Your miraculous mercy.  

Raise up faithful stewards,  

wise innovators,  

and compassionate leaders  

who will honor Your creation mandate.  

Turn the hearts of nations  

to pursue ecological justice  

and sustainable care for our common home.  

As You promised to make all things new,  

begin Your redemptive work through us today.  

May our repentance lead to action,  

our prayers to changed habits,  

and Your mercy to environmental healing  

for generations yet unborn.  

In the name of the One through whom  

all things were created and are being redeemed -  

Jesus Christ our Lord,  

Amen.

God of All Creation,   I come before You with a heart seeking direction, knowing that my steps are uncertain without Your guidance.
